Your dorm room? There was more creativity than money and thinking outside the box was the norm. Creativity still applies today: combine it with recycling and you have the new vogue in home decor: Re-Purposing.
For example: comb through an upscale neighborhood garage sale. Find a tired but striking nightstand or end table. Repaint it in a “wow” color, contrast the top and coat with shellac. Place it in your entry or hallway and top off with an accessory vase or photograph display. A furniture piece is recycled and you’ve helped your budget. It’s a win-win.
